Digital NHS Health Check Programme

The Department of Health and Social Care and parts of the NHS are trialling offering NHS Health Checks in a digital format. This is a fully funded initiative which will involve sending SMS invites to eligible patients to signpost them to the digital Health Check platform, Tickertest. Information from the digital NHS Health Check will be written back to the patient’s GP record, after which practices can follow up with the patient accordingly in line with usual practice.

Digital NHS Health Check Programme


 As part of the programme:

  • iPlato Healthcare will be sending text messages to all consenting patients registered at participating practices.
  • The text message will contain a unique URL which provides access to the digital NHS Health Check platform.
  • Information from the digital NHS Health Check (whether complete or incomplete) will be written back to the patient’s GP record, after which GP practices can take any appropriate follow up.
  • This SMS Programme will be in addition to any existing programmes. Please note that, upon sign up, no further interaction will be required by GP Practices.
  • Eligible patients will receive an invitation via SMS to self-complete a digital NHS Health Check using the Tickertest product.


The myGP Population Health Service

The myGP Population Health Team at iPLATO have supported several health campaigns and trials in collaboration with NHS England, Public Health England, Universities, cancer networks and clinical commissioning groups to improve population engagement, increase uptake of screening as well as advocate disease prevention and wellbeing services.

Data Processing and Data Sharing Summary

  1. iPLATO will facilitate the ongoing extraction of client demographic data via the practice clinical system phonebook, for which the data will be minimised as far as possible.
  2. All data is processed within the HSCN network.
  3. Only patients who have consented to receive SMS will be contacted.
  4. iPLATO Healthcare acts as a data processor for this service.
