The Programme
This is a fully funded Programme. KOOTH online Mental Wellbeing Service initiative using text messaging technology in order to signpost patients to online mental health support services Kooth and Qwell. Users can access free support anonymously and without referral. Kooth is the UK's leading digital mental health platform and is commissioned by CCG's and local authorities across the country. myGP is working with Kooth to promote it services using SMS messages to signpost patients.
- The iPLATO myGP Population Health service will be sending text messages to consenting patients registered at participating practices.
- The text messages will invite people to access Mental Health Support via QWELL or KOOTH Online Mental Wellbeing Community.
- This SMS Programme will be in addition to any existing programmes. Please note that, upon sign up, no further interaction will be required by GP Practices.
For this programme we will only send messages to patients aged 16+

Kooth
Kooth Online Mental Wellbeing Community for children and young adults
Kooth is a service that provides support to children and young people, this is a BACP accredited. This online service provides access to counselling via live chat, community support and self-help resources.
Qwell Online Mental Wellbeing community for adults
Qwell is an online mental health support service for adults aged 26 over. This online service provides access to counselling via live chat, community support and self-help resources.
myGP
The myGP Population Health Service
The myGP Population Health Team at iPLATO have supported health campaign and trials for NHS England & Improvement, Public Health England, Universities, cancer networks and clinical commissioning groups to improve the population engagement, increase uptake of screening as well as advocate disease prevention and wellbeing services.
Data Processing and Data Sharing Summary
- iPLATO will facilitate the ongoing extraction of client demographic data via the practice clinical system phonebook, for which the data will be minimised as far as possible.
- All data is processed within the HSCN network.
- Only patients who have consented to receive SMS will be contacted.
- iPLATO Healthcare acts as a data processor for this service.
